Life After 5PM Starts Here | Funke Suyi

I'm Funke.

I came to Canada with a needle and thread, literally.

That's how I got in, through the trade pathway, as a tailor. Not the story people expect when they meet someone fifteen years deep in corporate, holding a Master's in Human Resources and a stack of certifications to match.

But that contrast is exactly the point.

In fifteen years, I've pivoted careers more than once, each time landing on my feet, not because the title changed, but because the skills traveled with me. Adapt, learn, requalify, move. That's the muscle nobody talks about enough.

And the whole time, after 5PM, I've been building something else. Stitches by Olu. Digital income streams. A whole other business life running quietly alongside the corporate one, because I've never believed one job title was supposed to hold everything I am.

That's what this newsletter is. Not hustle-culture noise. Not "quit your job" hype. Just honest, practical talk about pivoting, building, and creating income and identity beyond your job description, from someone actually doing it in real time, corporate badge and all.

So here's my question for you, the same one that got me here:

Needle and thread got me to Canada. What's your needle and thread?

Hit reply and tell me. I read everything.

Talk soon,
Funke
